The Divine Moon

A WRITER, A FOLLOWER OF THE ORISHAS, A SANTERIA PRACTITIONER.
Once Olofin summoned his children to a meal. All arrived early and began to eat, but Obatala had not yet arrived, who they did not wait; in one corner were the heads that no one wanted to eat.
When Obatala arrived, he ate what everyone left. At the conclusion, Olofin asked to each one what he had eaten, and they answered him: “I ate akokan, because we can not live without heart; I ate adoflan, because we can not live without liver; I ate oloni because the tail serves to scare; I ate adofli, because without lungs can not breathe.” When Obatala had to answer, he said: “I ate head.”
Then Olofin said for all to hear: “head you ate, head you will be.”
